Sweet Chestnut

Sweet Chestnut (Castanea sativa)

The Sweet Chestnut is a fast growing tree with edible nuts which grow in spiky green burrs which open up in the fall, dropping the nuts onto the ground.

The Black Walnut grows to be a very large tree. It produces thick-shelled Walnuts in a hard green hull. The leaves are compound and the bark is made up of many ridges.

Milkweed (Asclepias)

The Milkweed Plant grows as a straight stem from one to five feet tall. It's flowers produce large seed pods which are filled with fluff in the fall. The plant produces a sticky white sap when damaged.
